Equipment

  • 1 8 inch cake tin
  • 1 Sharp Knife
  • 1 small bowl or jug
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Large mixing bowl
  • 1 zester/fine grater

Ingredients

  • 2 whole oranges
  • 110 grams Heinz Terrys Chocolate Orange Mayo
  • 170 grams milk
  • 140 grams plain flour
  • 140 grams sugar
  • 25 grams cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 170°c (340°f) or 160°c (320°f) if fan assisted.
  • Grease and line the cake tin. Thinly slice one orange and place the slices in the base of the tin, covering as much as you can.
  • In a small bowl, add the chocolate orange mayo and milk. Whisk well until no lumps remain.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and the zest of one orange.
  • Add in the mayo milk and whisk everything together until just combined. Be careful not to over mix, a few small lumps left is fine.
  • Pour over the slices oranges and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until fully baked and a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean.
