Equipment

  • 1 Saucepan
  • 1 deep baking dish

Ingredients
  

  • 75 grams brown sugar
  • 150 grams water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 5-6 cardamom pods
  • 3 chai teabags
  • 4 pears peeled and halved

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 170°c (340°f) or 160°c (320°f) if fan assisted.
  • In a saucepan, add the brown sugar, water, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods and chai teabags. Heat on a medium heat for 5-10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Place the peeled and halved pears into a deep baking dish.
  • Remove the teabags from the syrup and pour the syrup over the pears.
  • Bake for 20-30 minutes until the pears have softened.
  • Serve warm.
  • Cooled leftovers can be transferred to an airtight container and kept in the fridge for up to 5 days.
