Mango Passionfruit Frozen Daiquiri Cocktail Recipe
This Mango Passionfruit Frozen Daiquiri is a delicious frozen cocktail that is perfect during the summer, or any time really! I used frozen mango in this recipe so it can be enjoyed any time of the year. Plus, considering it has a lot of mango in it, it can technically be classed as part of your 5 a day! In this recipe, I used locally produced Mo Chara Mango Passionfruit Gin that is now in Aldi all over Ireland. Fun fact, although this blog post is not sponsored, I did create this recipe while working with Mo Chara, you can see my work featured on the Aldi website, here.
So how do I make this Mango Passionfruit Frozen Daiquiri from scratch?
This cocktail recipe is incredibly straightforward. Simply add all the ingredients, frozen mango, lime juice, ice, gin and sugar syrup (or honey or maple syrup) to a blender. Blend on high for 2-3 minutes until completely smooth and pour into a cocktail glass. Serve immediately before it melts!
What alcohol should I use for this ccocktail?
I chose locally produced Mango Passionfruit Gin by Mo Chara, however there’s a number of flavoured gins that can be used. The following are a few examples;
- Haysmith’s Mango & Passionfruit Gin
- The Melodist Mango & Passionfruit Gin
- Mallows Mango Passionfruit & Lime Gin
- Redcastle Passionfruit & Mango Gin
- Gordon’s Tropical Passionfruit
- Stonewall Passionfruit & Mango Gin
Of course, if you can’t get your hands on any of these and still want to make the cocktail, you can use any plain flavoured spirit such as vodka, gin, white rum etc. Even lime flavoured spirits would be delicious in this too!
Frequently Asked Questions
No problem! You can peel and chop the mango into chunks and freeze for 2-3 hours before making. If you can’t wait that long, you can use fresh mango but add in another handful of ice.
Absolutely! You can use any kind of frozen berry instead or other fruits such as pineapple, orange, etc. For best results make sure the fruit is in small chunks and frozen.
Absolutely, if you are limited on time or you don’t want to spend time away from your guests, you can make large batches of this and pop into the freezer. After about 1 hour it will start to freeze solid though. You may want to blend it again before serving or you can let it melt a little at room temperature before serving.
